Everything your need to know before your spray tan
Spray Tan Preparation & Aftercare Instructions
To achieve the most flawless and long-lasting spray tan, proper preparation and aftercare are essential. Please follow these guidelines:
One Week Before Your Appointment:
• Hydrate your skin daily by moisturizing morning and night. Well-moisturized skin ensures even color absorption.
24 Hours Before Your Tan:
• Shower, exfoliate, and shave to remove dead skin cells and ensure a smooth surface.
• Moisturize after exfoliating to lock in hydration.
Day of Your Tan:
• Rinse off any remaining lotion, makeup, deodorant, or perfumes before arriving.
• Wear loose-fitting, dark clothing and easy-to-remove shoes such as slides or sandals.
• Pull your hair back into a ponytail or bun and bring a hair clip if needed.
At Your Appointment:
• A team member will escort you to the spray booth and walk you through the process.
• You will completely undress to your comfort level and remove all jewelry.
• Put your hair up and cover it using the provided plastic cap.
• Step into the booth and wave your hand in front of the green sensor to activate the machine.
• Follow the verbal instructions given by the machine as it walks you through the spray and drying process.
• Once your final spray is complete, the machine will dry your body.
• Wait until you feel fully dry before getting dressed. If needed, remain in the booth a little longer.
• When instructed, step out and close the booth door so it can begin its self-cleaning cycle.
Before Leaving the Salon:
• Gently wash your hands – top, bottom, between fingers, and palms – to avoid overly tanned palms.
• Pat hands dry and moisturize, gently blending at the wrists for a seamless finish.

Post-Tan Care:
Norvell Rapid Tan Solution
• This solution develops based on how long it is left on the skin:
• 1 hour = light tan
• 2 hours = medium tan
• 3 hours = deep tan
• After your desired development time, take a quick, warm rinse to wash off the cosmetic bronzer (no soap).
• Pat your skin dry and apply a hydrating moisturizer.
For the next 24 hours, your tan will continue to develop. To keep your glow fresh and even:
• Moisturize at least twice daily
• Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating or rubbing
• Sleep in loose, dark clothing to avoid transfer
Longevity Tips:
• Tans typically last 5 to 10 days, depending on your skin’s natural exfoliation cycle.
• Once the tan starts fading, gently exfoliate to remove any remaining color evenly.
